These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of the Kindred Plate website and to every product you buy from us. By using this site or purchasing a product, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or buy our products.
1. Digital products and license
Our cookbooks and meal plans are digital downloads. No physical item is shipped. When you buy a product, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download, view and print it for your own household's use. You may not share, resell, sublicense, redistribute, upload or publish the files, or use them for any commercial purpose, without our written permission. All content, recipes, text, designs and images remain the property of Kindred Plate.
2. Not medical advice
Everything we sell and publish is for general information and home-cooking inspiration only. It is not medical, nutritional, dietary or swallowing advice, and it does not create a doctor–patient, dietitian–client or other professional relationship. Always follow the guidance of your doctor, speech-language pathologist, registered dietitian or care team, especially for anyone with dysphagia, food allergies, or another medical condition.
3. Texture and dietary suggestions
Every person's needs are different, and we cannot know or predict what any individual requires. Texture options described as "IDDSI 6-style" or "IDDSI 5-style," and dietary swaps such as low-sodium, gluten-free or dairy-free, are loose, general suggestions. They are not certified, endorsed or reviewed by IDDSI or any medical body, and we do not guarantee that any dish will meet a particular texture level, diet or nutritional target. Results depend on your ingredients, equipment, preparation, cutting, blending and serving. You are solely responsible for preparing, testing and serving food at the texture and diet prescribed for each person, and for supervising anyone at risk of choking.
4. Food safety, allergens and nutrition
Follow safe food-handling practices and cook foods to safe internal temperatures. Recipes may contain or come into contact with allergens; always read product labels. Nutrition information is an estimate for general reference only.
5. Photos
Food photos are AI-generated illustrations intended to show the finished dish. Your results will look different.
6. Assumption of risk
You use our recipes, suggestions and information at your own risk and agree to use your own judgment.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
Our site and products are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or completeness, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kindred Plate and its owners, family members, contractors and affiliates will not be liable for any injury, illness, allergic reaction, choking, loss or damage of any kind (including direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages) arising from or related to your use or misuse of our site, products, recipes or information. If any liability is found despite these Terms, our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the product involved.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kindred Plate and its owners from any claims, damages or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of our products, your preparation or serving of food, or your breach of these Terms.
10. Refunds
Because our products are instant digital downloads, all sales are final. If a file is damaged or you can't access your purchase, contact us and we'll make it right.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version posted on this page applies to purchases made while it is posted.
